Welcome to The Swan Ball 2012 Benefiting Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of The Swan Ball to be held on Saturday, June 9th. As we move into this Golden Year The Swan Ball 2012 promises “a nod to the past and a wink to the future.”
The Swan Ball has a long and proud history of being organized and presented by some of Nashville’s most dedicated and talented volunteers. Every year two chairman spearhead the efforts of these hundreds of volunteers.
Jacqueline Ruger Hutton, a transplanted New Yorker, moved to Nashville 19 years ago. Jacqueline has enthusiastically embraced many of the southern traditions of her adopted home. Jacqueline’s professional background is in Sports Marketing, with an emphasis on producing sporting events, professional and amateur, for corporations, sports federations, fundraising efforts, celebrity presentations and Olympics festivals. Locally, Jacqueline has served on the executive boards of Nashville Ballet, Nashville Zoo, and chaired The Ballet Ball, Sunday in the Park, The Seaton Society, and Nashville’s Nutcracker Gala Opening, as well as served on committees for many of Nashville fundraisers. Jacqueline is married to Robert Hutton, Chief of Emergency Medicine, as well as Chief of Staff at Baptist Hospital.
Sandra Lipman is not a native Nashvillian, but certainly feels like one. Sandra has been a strategic leader of community boards for nonprofit agencies for the past 30 years; especially those focused on the Arts, women’s issues, children and education. She enjoys utilizing her skills in planning, organization, new project implementation, leadership and change management to revamp and reinvigorate fundraising events and development campaigns. Sandra serves on many boards, advisory and executive committees, and has chaired over 50 fundraisers locally including The Symphony Ball, The Ballet Ball, The Frist Gala and the Iroquois Steeplechase. Sandra is married to Larry Lipman, CEO of The Lipman Group Sotheby’s International Realty. They have two beautiful daughters, Sutton and Alexa.
The Swan Ball, over five decades, has raised several million dollars for the benefit of Cheekwood. The Swan Ball Auction is an integral and exciting part of these fundraising efforts. The 2012 Auction will once again be held the night of the Ball and is chaired by the dynamic team of Lucie Carroll, Vee Vee Scott and Janette Smith, who along with their committee have assembled a mouthwatering assortment of destinations and temptations.
Under the capable and creative watch of Jim Mees, Production Designer, along with the Production Visuals by BIG Events Inc. Martha and Malcolm Greenwood and Denise Sikes, the evening promises to be exceptional, extraordinary and, of course, glamorous!
Please join us on the Swan Lawn on June 9th as we celebrate 50 years of Nashville at its most GOLDEN.
