Mish Tworkowski, nationally acclaimed jewelry designer of his eponymous New York City based company, is widely regarded as one of this country’s most talented and exciting fine jewelry designers. Each month the pages of W, Veranda, Robb Report, Vogue or Town & Country feature one of his exquisite creations.
Well-known for his dapper style and charming personality, and lauded for his innate sense of beauty and inspired use of color, Mish’s earlier resume includes Art History and Fine Art Studies in the United States and England as well as specialist positions at Sotheby’s in New York.
His love of gardening and the natural world has informed much of his work. Blooms from his Millbrook, New York garden often become beautiful jewel-encrusted earrings and tree bark found on a hike near his Aspen, Colorado home magically transforms into an amazing gold cuff. His thoughtful and respected collection of eighteenth century through contemporary period botanical watercolor paintings illustrates his discerning sense of nature in artistry. Mish’s varied horticultural interests have lead to his involvement with such renowned institutions as the New York Botanical Garden where he sits on the Board of Trustees and chairs the Garden Patrons Program.
The Mish studio is located at 30 Bond Street in the “Noho” Historic Landmark District of Manhattan. The space is housed in a nineteenth century building on a cobblestone block that is juxtaposed against some of the best examples of contemporary architecture in New York City. This “classic yet modern” aesthetic present within the Bond Street neighborhood is a fitting analogy for Mish’s own work as well. The studio features three strikingly beautiful and uniquely designed rooms that create a wonderful backdrop for the whimsical design of Mish’s iconic jewelry pieces. This amazing space houses both the Mish by-appointment salon and his design studio. It is here where some of the best-dressed women in the world select or commission their beloved Mish treasures for their jewelry collections.
Mish’s personal style has been celebrated by the press as well. His shops, apartments and country houses have graced the pages of home magazines such as Elle Décor, Veranda and Architectural Digest. His dandy, custom-tailored dressing has placed him on the International Best Dressed List and the acknowledgement of his gifted design ability has resulted in his induction into the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America. His deep knowledge of jewelry and his passion for great design have also lead to the creation and co-chairing of the first Jewelry Council of the CFDA.
Mish’s jewelry is both delightful and important and represents the finest work possible in craftsmanship and design.
